Neo-classical styles were another common Art Deco theme...though it is interesting to note how national outlook dictated exactly which aspect of the ancient world would be borrowed and updated.The totalitarian states, like Russia and Germany, concentrated their efforts on massive public buildings in what became known as the classical modern style. The French were not so much interested in such unsubtle displays of power, as in the beauty to be gleaned from the ancient world.
